Principles of Inclusive Communication

This session is offered to all SCC employees. As a college, SCC is working towards more inclusive practices. In support of these efforts, this session will examine our communications to internal and external audiences and how we can improve those materials. We will discuss email communication, media, and documents, and we will provide a demonstration of how to incorporate these principles in action.

Participants will:

• Define universal design and its role in inclusive communication 
• Identify common issues in communications and materials 
• Demonstrate how to make communication more inclusive 
• Develop at least one strategy to incorporate into their future communications
