A professional development center for faculty
The Center for Teaching Excellence is dedicated to supporting the teaching, learning, and instructional technology goals of Southwestern Community College educators. The center exists to encourage faculty (from veteran to novice) to share expertise, to discuss the challenges of teaching, and to explore innovative teaching practices.
The physical space is located on the second floor of the Balsam Building (Room 247), and consists of a meeting/seminar room in a fully equipped instructional technology lab. This quiet environment is a great space for faculty and staff to learn, develop, discuss, and apply new technology. In the lab faculty have access to technology such as Camtasia (video recording), Respondus (exam conversion), and Snagit (Image capture and editing).
If you would like to reserve space in The Center for Teaching Excellence room for a professional development event for your division, program, or group of colleagues, click here.
