Use the following instructions and resource to create a closed captions for your videos.

  • If you created the video yourself in YuJa:
    • YuJa will automatically create captions for you and show a transcript below your video.
    • To update the captions to be more accurate, please use YuJa Captions Support.
  • If you created the video yourself and it doesn't have captions, follow this tutorial to upload your video to YuJa (and it will automatically create the captions for you). 
  • If you created the video yourself and uploaded it to YouTube:
  • If you did not create the video yourself but you found it on YouTube:
    • Check to see if the video has subtitles. (This tutorial video from Common Sense Media shows you how to turn on subtitles.) Students can turn on subtitles for YouTube videos imported into YuJa by tapping "C" on their keyboard while the video is playing.
    • If the video does not have subtitles, you can contact the owner to see if they will add captions to the video. Alternately, you can find a video with updated captions that covers similar content as an alternative.
