TOPs: Exploring the 6 Phases of Appreciative Advising - Part I

As a follow-up to our Spring 2018 Appreciative Advising Workshop, SCC’s Appreciative Advising Team (Tori Ellison, Jennie Ashlock, Dominique Benson and Jodie Waldroup) would like to present a more in-depth examination of the 6 phases through two 60-minute interactive sessions. One during Fall 2019 to delve into Disarm, Discover and Dream, followed by a second in Spring 2020 to discuss Design, Deliver and Don’t Settle.

Learning Objectives:

• Participants will gain a greater understanding of the Appreciative Advising framework in addition to techniques, strategies and best practices for implementing the 6 phases during advising sessions, as well as in the classroom.
